It’s NASA Tweetup Year for me!!! YAY! 🙂

I’m lucky and honored to have be selected to attend a tweetup at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC hosted by members of the STS-135 Mission Crew on Thursday, October 13, 2011. Thank you once again NASA and the NASA Tweetup Team.

This Tweetup will be quite a bit different experience than the launch tweetups I have attended this year (STS-133 2.0 – http://j.mp/fluxsts133, and GRAIL – http://j.mp/fluxgrail) as it is only a one hour event. But one hour with part of the last space shuttle crew is an hour WELL spent in my opinion and well worth the drive to DC.

If you registered and weren’t selected, you can still follow along on Twitter (search #nasatweetup on Twitter – http://j.mp/hashnasatweetup) and watch the event live on NASA TV. The live stream starts at 4PM ET and will last about 1 hour.

If you have any specific questions you’d like me to ask Commander Chris Ferguson or Mission Specialist Sandy Magnus, send me an @ reply on Twitter – @therealdjflux and I’ll try to get your question answered.

Do you love space exploration as much as I do? Would you like to experience a NASA Tweetup? There are a number of NASA Tweetups being held in the next few months. Head on over to http://www.nasa.gov/connect/tweetup/ and register. The #spacetweep community is amazing and the NASA Tweetups are a chance to meet and interact with other space enthusiasts, and make sure that the rest of the world knows that NASA didn’t stop working when the Shuttles were retired.

And if you thought you were alone in your love for spacey things, you’re not. It’s just a good time 🙂

Once again, I am honored to be selected, and very gracious to NASA, and the entire NASA Social Media Team for the opportunity to see things, and meet astronauts and other interesting and smart people at NASA that most people will never see or meet.

Thank you! 🙂
Flux.
